How to Froth Milk Like a Pro ☕
Frothing milk is key to making lattes, cappuccinos, and flat whites. Follow these simple steps to achieve perfectly textured milk every time.
1. Use Cold, Fresh Milk
- Fill a cold stainless-steel jug one-third full.
- Whole milk creates creamy foam, while skim milk makes lighter foam.
2. Position the Steam Wand
- Submerge the wand just below the surface and tilt slightly off-center.
- Create a gentle whirlpool motion for smooth, even frothing.
3. Aerate & Heat the Milk
- Lower the jug slightly to introduce air (soft hissing sound).
- After 3-5 seconds, fully submerge the wand to texture the milk.
- Stop steaming when the milk reaches 60–65°C (140–150°F).
4. Polish & Pour
- Tap the jug to remove bubbles, then swirl for a silky texture.
- Pour smoothly for latte art or creamy foam.
