How to Froth Milk Like a Pro ☕

Frothing milk is key to making lattes, cappuccinos, and flat whites. Follow these simple steps to achieve perfectly textured milk every time.

1. Use Cold, Fresh Milk

  • Fill a cold stainless-steel jug one-third full.
  • Whole milk creates creamy foam, while skim milk makes lighter foam.

2. Position the Steam Wand

  • Submerge the wand just below the surface and tilt slightly off-center.
  • Create a gentle whirlpool motion for smooth, even frothing.

3. Aerate & Heat the Milk

  • Lower the jug slightly to introduce air (soft hissing sound).
  • After 3-5 seconds, fully submerge the wand to texture the milk.
  • Stop steaming when the milk reaches 60–65°C (140–150°F).

4. Polish & Pour

  • Tap the jug to remove bubbles, then swirl for a silky texture.
  • Pour smoothly for latte art or creamy foam.
